Hezbollah Drone Strike in North Israel Injures 12 Soldiers

Date:

Tel Aviv, Israel – Web Desk: At least 12 Israeli soldiers were injured after a drone strike, attributed to Hezbollah, targeted an artillery position near Shomera in northern Israel, the Israeli military said.

According to the army, the drone was launched from Lebanon and struck a military cargo vehicle, triggering a fire. The blaze led to secondary explosions as nearby ammunition detonated, intensifying the damage at the site.

The vehicle involved was identified as an M548 model, referred to as “Alpha” within the Israeli military, which is primarily used to transport artillery ammunition.

Israeli authorities said they are investigating whether the drone was controlled via a fiber-optic cable system, a technology believed to be resistant to electronic jamming. Such systems have reportedly been used by Hezbollah in recent weeks to target military positions in southern Lebanon.

The incident marks a further escalation in cross-border hostilities, raising concerns over the use of advanced drone warfare technology in the ongoing Israel-Lebanon tensions.
