Trump Faces Congress Deadline Over Ongoing War Approval

Date:

WASHINGTON, United States – Web Desk: US President Donald Trump is facing a major constitutional deadline as he has just one week left to secure congressional approval for the ongoing military conflict.

Under the War Powers Resolution, a US president can initiate military action without prior approval from Congress during emergency situations. However, the law requires the president to obtain formal authorization from Congress within 60 days.

According to international media reports, public support for the war in the United States has been declining rapidly, adding pressure on the administration.

Reports also suggest that the US military has requested an additional $200 billion in war-related funding, further intensifying political debate in Washington.

A recent survey by Associated Press found growing public distrust in Trump’s economic policies, with disapproval reportedly rising to 70%.

Political analysts say the coming week could prove critical for Trump as lawmakers weigh the legal, financial and political implications of continuing the conflict.
