New York, United States – Web Desk: A new joint report by the United Nations and the European Union estimates that $71.4 billion will be required to rebuild the Gaza Strip following extensive damage caused by prolonged conflict.
The “Gaza Rapid Damage and Needs Assessment” evaluates the scale of destruction over a 24-month period, documenting widespread damage to infrastructure, housing, and essential services.
According to the report, the cost reflects the massive reconstruction effort needed to restore basic living conditions, including rebuilding homes, healthcare facilities, schools, and critical utilities.
The assessment highlights the severe humanitarian and economic toll of the conflict, with large parts of Gaza’s infrastructure either destroyed or rendered inoperable.
Officials said the reconstruction process will require coordinated international support, long-term planning, and sustained funding commitments from global partners.
The report underscores the urgency of stabilizing the region and ensuring that reconstruction efforts are aligned with humanitarian needs and development goals.
