Karachi, Pakistan – Web Desk: The Sindh government has approved the allocation of more than 22 acres of land for the construction of a new water treatment facility in Hyderabad, aiming to improve access to clean drinking water in the region.

The decision was taken during a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah at the CM House in Karachi, where senior provincial officials reviewed ongoing development and infrastructure projects.

The approved project includes a 6 million gallons per day (MGD) Rapid Gravity Water Treatment Plant, designed to meet the growing water demands of Hyderabad, Qasimabad, and surrounding areas.

Officials said the initiative is part of the provincial government’s broader strategy to upgrade the water supply system and improve public health standards across urban centers in Sindh.

Murad Ali Shah emphasized that providing clean drinking water remains a top priority of the provincial administration. He directed authorities to expedite legal and administrative procedures to ensure timely completion of the project.

He also stated that the water treatment facility will be closely monitored to ensure transparency and efficiency during construction and implementation.

Government officials said the project is expected to play a key role in addressing long-standing water shortages and improving the overall quality of life for residents in Hyderabad.
