Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – Web Desk: UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer stated on arrival in Saudi Arabia that the recent ceasefire between the United States and Iran is a positive step, but significant work remains to ensure lasting peace.
Addressing reporters, Starmer emphasized the need to consolidate the ceasefire into a permanent and sustainable agreement. “We all want to see peace, but achieving it requires continued efforts,” he said.
Starmer added that the Iran conflict was never Britain’s war and that his priority remains the protection of the UK. Highlighting the strategic importance of keeping the Strait of Hormuz open, he noted that multiple countries are being brought together to secure regional stability. Starmer confirmed that discussions will continue with Saudi Arabia and other regional partners to strengthen peace and security.
