Washington/Dubai – Web Desk: US President Donald Trump warned that “a whole civilisation will die” if Iran does not comply with American demands, as tensions rise sharply between Washington and Tehran.
Posting on Truth Social, Trump suggested that “complete and total regime change” could lead to “something revolutionarily wonderful,” describing the moment as pivotal in global history.
US Vice President JD Vance, speaking in Hungary, noted that Washington possesses tools “we so far haven’t decided to use” against Iran, but expressed hope that diplomatic negotiations might prevent further escalation. Vance added that US military objectives had largely been achieved and that the next steps would hinge on ongoing talks before a looming Tuesday deadline.
Meanwhile, Iranian media reported explosions on Kharg Island, a strategic oil export hub. Mehr news agency cited “several attacks” on the island, while Axios journalist Barak Ravid, citing a US official, indicated US forces struck military targets. These reports have not been independently verified.
The United Arab Emirates confirmed its air defences intercepted one ballistic missile and 11 drones reportedly launched from Iran. The UAE said hundreds of missiles and thousands of drones had been engaged since the start of attacks, and no casualties were reported in the latest incidents.
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) warned of broader retaliation if the United States crosses “red lines,” stating that it could target infrastructure to deprive the US and its allies of oil and gas. The IRGC emphasized that previous restraint has ended, signaling potential escalation.
