White House: Talks with Iran Ongoing Despite Tehran Rejection

Date:

Washington, USA – Web Desk: The White House confirmed on Wednesday that diplomatic talks between the United States and Iran are still ongoing, despite reports from Iranian state media that Tehran has rejected Washington’s peace proposal.

Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said the negotiations remain “productive,” acknowledging that elements of the U.S. 15-point plan—which sets out specific demands for Tehran—have been publicly reported.

Leavitt warned that President Donald Trump is prepared to “unleash hell” if Iran refuses to agree to a deal aimed at ending the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. “If Iran fails to accept the reality of the current moment, if they fail to understand that they have been defeated militarily and will continue to be, President Trump will ensure they are hit harder than they have ever been hit before,” she said.

Iranian state media, Press TV, reported that Tehran has rejected the U.S. points, mocking the administration for “negotiating with yourselves,” though officials added that the terms are under review for potential discussions.

Meanwhile, the Pentagon is reportedly planning to deploy service members and equipment from the 82nd Airborne Division to the Middle East, bolstering the U.S. military presence as Trump considers the possible use of ground forces in the conflict.

The developments come amid heightened tensions in the region, with both sides issuing stern warnings and increasing military readiness, even as diplomatic channels remain open.
