ISLAMABAD, Pakistan – Web Desk: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sardar Suhail Afridi has sharply criticized the United States while reaffirming support for Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, amid rising political tensions in Pakistan.
Speaking at a press conference in Islamabad alongside PTI provincial president Junaid Akbar and finance adviser Muzammil Aslam, Afridi addressed US President Donald Trump directly, stating that Pakistan’s leadership rests with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
He alleged that the United States and Israel do not want Pakistan to progress, linking geopolitical pressures to the country’s economic and political challenges.
Afridi also criticized the federal government’s policies, accusing it of sidelining opposition voices and making key decisions without broader consultation. He expressed concern over Pakistan’s economic situation, including rising debt, trade deficits, and declining agricultural growth.
The chief minister further claimed that political forces were being marginalized, urging transparency and inclusive decision-making in national matters.
His remarks come at a time of heightened regional tensions and domestic political uncertainty, with increasing debate over governance, economic policy, and foreign relations.
