Web Desk | Dera Ghazi Khan, Pakistan Authorities in Dera Ghazi Khan have rescued a newborn left abandoned in a local mosque and transferred the child to a safe facility under state supervision.
The Child Protection Bureau (CPB) took immediate action after receiving a report of the infant found in an unattended condition. CPB Chairperson and Provincial Assembly member Sara Ahmed confirmed that the child was placed under legal custody and moved to a secure environment.
The newborn underwent prompt medical evaluation to ensure health and well-being before being admitted to the Bureau’s Infant Care Unit. Trained staff provide round-the-clock care at the facility.
The CPB emphasized that the rescued child will receive all essential services under state supervision. Once legal procedures are completed, children like this are placed with eligible families through a transparent adoption process.
Sara Ahmed urged citizens to report any abandoned or abused children immediately via the Child Protection Bureau helpline at 1121 to enable rapid intervention.
