Sarfraz Ahmed Appointed Head Coach of Pakistan Test Cricket Team

Islamabad, Pakistan – Web Desk: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to appoint former captain Sarfraz Ahmed as the head coach of the national Test cricket team. Official confirmation of his appointment is expected soon.

Sarfraz Ahmed will begin his duties during Pakistan’s upcoming two-match Test series against Bangladesh in May 2026, part of the ICC World Test Championship 2027. The first Test will start on May 8, followed by the second on May 16.

Previously, the head coach position had been vacant, with Azhar Mahmood serving as interim coach during the South Africa series. Sarfraz, who had served as mentor for the Pakistan Under-19 team leading them to an Asia Cup victory, also contributed as mentor for the recently concluded Under-19 World Cup.
