USS Gerald Ford Heads to Israel Amid Iran Tensions

Date:

Haifa, Israel – Web Desk: The USS Gerald R. Ford has departed from the Greek island of Crete and is en route to Israel, according to international media reports, in a move seen as part of Washington’s expanding military posture in the Middle East.

The U.S. aircraft carrier is expected to arrive at the port of Haifa by Friday, the news agency said. The deployment comes amid heightened regional tensions, particularly involving Iran.

U.S. officials have also indicated that 12 F-22 fighter jets have been sent to Israel. If confirmed, this would mark the first known deployment of American fighter aircraft on Israeli soil. However, the Pentagon and the administration of Donald Trump have not officially confirmed the stationing of U.S. fighter jets in Israel.

Washington has been reinforcing its military presence across the Middle East in response to ongoing tensions with Iran. On February 19, President Trump reportedly gave Tehran a 10 to 15-day window to reach an agreement, further intensifying diplomatic pressure.

The latest naval movement underscores the strategic importance of the Eastern Mediterranean and signals continued U.S. support for Israel amid a volatile security environment.

Regional analysts say the deployment could have broader geopolitical implications, as global powers monitor developments closely.
