Islamabad, Pakistan – Web Desk: The Chief Minister of Soheil Afridi has rejected claims that security was withdrawn from former provincial leader Ali Amin Gandapur, describing the allegations as incorrect.
The controversy emerged after Gandapur confirmed that his security detail had been removed by the provincial administration, expressing frustration with the decision. He stated that the order to withdraw protection came from the chief security officer and included the removal of personnel and vehicles previously assigned to him.
Gandapur noted that his security team consisted of a jammer vehicle, two double-cabin vehicles and 14 staff members. He argued that the region of Dera Ismail Khan remains sensitive and that he has previously received threat alerts due to his political position and policies related to counterterrorism.
Addressing media queries outside the Islamabad High Court, Soheil Afridi dismissed the claims, saying no security detail had been withdrawn. “It is false. No security has been taken back. I am not free enough to keep dealing with such matters,” he said.
The differing statements have sparked political discussion over security protocols for public officials and the administration of protective arrangements in sensitive regions.
Authorities have not issued further clarification on the status of security arrangements.
