Man Arrested After Car Rammed Into Brisbane Synagogue

Brisbane, Australia – Web Desk: Australian police have arrested a 32-year-old man after he rammed a vehicle into a synagogue in the city of Brisbane, causing property damage but no injuries, authorities said.

According to police, the incident occurred at around 7:15 pm when the suspect drove a Toyota Hilux into the entrance of the Brisbane synagogue. No casualties were reported, but the building sustained damage.

The suspect was taken into custody and charged with multiple offenses, including dangerous use of a vehicle, intentional damage to property, and committing an act of serious violence or hatred-based crime. Additional charges related to drug possession, drug use, and possession of drug paraphernalia have also been filed.

The suspect is scheduled to appear before the Brisbane Magistrates Court on February 21, 2026. Queensland’s Premier described the incident as deeply disturbing and warned that it could cause fear and anxiety within the Jewish community.

Police said investigations are ongoing and security measures are being strengthened to ensure community safety.
