ATC Orders Aleema Khan to Appear on Feb 23 in Protest Case

Date:

Rawalpindi, Pakistan – Web Desk: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Rawalpindi has ordered Aleema Khan to appear on February 23 in connection with the November 26 protest case, after granting her a one-day exemption from attendance.

Judge Amjad Ali Shah approved Aleema Khan’s request for exemption and adjourned the hearing until February 23. In her application, she stated that the hearing date was initially set for the 23rd but was later changed to the 20th, and she was unaware of the change.

The court also summoned the final two prosecution witnesses, who are investigating officers, and directed that their cross-examination be completed at the next hearing. Summons notices were also issued to other accused individuals in the case.

The prosecutor informed the court that cross-examination of 16 witnesses has already been completed in the protest case, and the government’s case will be concluded once the testimony of the remaining two investigating officers is recorded.
