CM Sindh Launches AI-Powered Job Portal To Empower Special Persons.

Date:

Karachi, Pakistan – Web Desk: Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has approved the development of a dedicated AI-powered job portal and complaints system for persons with disabilities. The initiative aims to enhance employment opportunities, institutional support, and merit-based recruitment across the province.

The decision was taken during a high-level meeting at the Chief Minister House, attended by senior officials including Principal Secretary Agha Wasif, Secretary DEPD Taha Ahmed Farooqi, and representatives from Sukkur IBA University. The portal will provide AI-based job matching in Sindhi, Urdu, and English, ensuring equitable access for all eligible persons with disabilities.

CM Shah emphasized that empowering special persons through technology is a core pillar of the Sindh Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities Act 2018, which provides a legal framework for rights, dignity, and full societal participation. The act mandates a 5% employment quota in government departments, the establishment of specialized institutions, issuance of disability certificates, inclusive education policies, awareness campaigns, and annual monitoring reports.

The portal will directly connect the Sindh government with persons with disabilities, improving transparency, efficiency, and merit-based recruitment. A new digital complaints system will also be integrated to ensure the protection of rights and timely resolution of issues. The initial prototype is expected by February 2026, with full job portal and complaints modules operational by May and July 2026, respectively.

CM Shah also reviewed progress at the Government Special Education and Rehabilitation Center in Qambar, a 6,000-square-foot facility with 10 specialized rooms. In partnership with the Mary Adelaide Leprosy Center (MALC) and DEPD Larkano, the center will serve children with developmental and neurodivergent challenges. Shah highlighted the project as a symbol of collective commitment to supporting children with physical and neurological developmental needs.
