Colombo, Sri Lanka – Web Desk: Pakistan all-rounder Shadab Khan has stressed that the national team’s focus remains on winning the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, not on individual matches, following discussions around their defeat to India.
Speaking after Pakistan’s emphatic 102-run victory over Namibia, Shadab said, “A lot is being said about one match, but our focus is on winning the World Cup.” He added that the team did not take the Namibia match lightly and praised the consistent form of opener Sahibzada Farhan.
Shadab highlighted the importance of following the process, maintaining strong batting performances, and executing the team’s strategies. He also noted that the Super 8 stage will present tougher matches under varying conditions, and emphasized that T20 cricket today relies heavily on all-rounders.
In the match against Namibia, Sahibzada Farhan scored a brilliant century to set a target of 200, while Pakistan’s bowlers restricted Namibia to 97 runs. Shadab Khan took 3 wickets for 19 runs, and Usman Tariq picked up 4 wickets for 16 runs, ensuring Pakistan’s comfortable win and progression to the Super 8 stage.
