Karachi, Pakistan – Web Desk: Fire at a chemical warehouse in the city’s Site Industrial Area near Walika Chowrangi has been successfully contained, authorities confirmed. No casualties were reported during the incident.

Chief Fire Officer Humayun Khan said the blaze was brought under control, and a cooling operation has begun, which could continue for 10 to 12 hours. Saad Bhutto, In-Charge Operations 1122, stated that eight Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) and four Rescue 1122 vehicles were deployed to manage the fire.

Deputy Commissioner Kemari, Amir Fazal, reported that 16 people were initially rescued and relocated to a safe location. Approximately 250 workers were present at the factory at the time of the fire. The initial ignition reportedly occurred in a wooden pallet, and the warehouse roof made of tin sheets partially collapsed. Neighboring factories were secured to prevent further damage.

The Chief Minister also instructed the Karachi Mayor and Commissioner to oversee the rescue efforts and ordered a swift investigation into the cause of the fire.

Officials confirmed that while the fire has been controlled, a detailed inquiry is ongoing, and further updates will be provided as more information emerges.
