Noida Valentine’s Day Tragedy: Young Couple Found Dead in Car

Date:

Noida, India – Web Desk: A young couple was found dead inside a parked car in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, on Valentine’s Day, authorities confirmed, in what police are investigating as a possible murder-suicide.

According to local reports, the bodies of 32-year-old Smith and 26-year-old Rekha were discovered along a busy street. The male victim was seated in the driver’s seat with his seatbelt fastened, while the female victim lay beside him. Both showed signs of gunshot wounds and bleeding.

Preliminary police investigations suggest that the male may have shot his girlfriend before turning the gun on himself. Locals reported hearing gunfire and alerted authorities. The vehicle was impounded, the area sealed, and forensic teams collected evidence, including a pistol and spent cartridges.

Family members had reported both missing just the previous day. Police said the couple had been in a relationship for several years, and their families were aware of it. A WhatsApp message from Smith reportedly stated that Rekha had initially promised to marry him but later chose another suitor. He allegedly wrote he would not allow her to be with anyone else and intended to end both their lives.

However, Smith’s family raised concerns that the incident may not have been a suicide, citing threats received by Rekha’s family, including caste-related harassment and suspicious calls from abroad. They also noted the car was found only a few hundred meters from Salarpur village, adding to the suspicion that caste-based targeting could have played a role.

Police said they are investigating all angles, including family allegations, and are reviewing every detail to determine the circumstances surrounding the deaths.
