Islamabad / Central Asia — Web Desk: Pakistan’s strategic geographic position is emerging as a key driver of economic connectivity and development for Central Asia, according to an analysis published by the US-based journal Eurasia Review.
The publication described trilateral cooperation among Pakistan, Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) framework as a milestone for regional economic transformation. It noted that the presidents of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan discussed trilateral integration during their recent visits to Pakistan, signaling a new phase of economic collaboration.
According to Eurasia Review, the development of Pakistan’s ports and improved infrastructure have opened new trade routes for landlocked Central Asian states. Integration with CPEC is expected to provide Uzbekistan with a reliable southern trade corridor through Karachi and Gwadar, while Kazakhstan could gain access to new export markets via Pakistan.
Experts cited by the publication said the trilateral cooperation could become a major catalyst not only for regional economic growth but also for future global trade flows. Pakistan is strengthening ties with Central Asian countries while expanding its participation in large-scale connectivity projects such as CPEC and China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).
