(Web Desk) – Stand-in captain Lorcan Tucker hit unbeaten 94 and led Ireland to the highest total – 235-5 – of the ongoing T20 World Cup at Sinhalese Sports Club Ground (SSC) in Colombo, the capital of Sri Lanka, on Saturday.

Shakeel Ahmed grabbed three wickts conceding 33 runs in his four overs.
Earlier, Oman won the toss and put Ireland in to bat.
Ireland is without their captain Paul Stirling who sustained knee ligament damage during his side’s 67-run loss to Australia in Colombo. Sam Topping has been named to lead the team in Stirling’s absence.
Both Ireland and Oman have so far played two matches each in the World Cup 2026 and lost.
Oman has defeated Ireland in the 2016 T20 World Cup which was incidentally their first-ever win in a World Cup tournament. Overall, Ireland have won five of the seven matches the two sides have played against each other.
