Pakistan continued their strong start at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 by defeating the United States by 32 runs in Group A action at Colombo. The win marks Pakistan’s second consecutive victory in the tournament, avenging their 2024 loss to the USA.

The USA won the toss and elected to field first, giving Pakistan the opportunity to bat. The Green Shirts posted a competitive total of 190/9 in 20 overs, led by Sahibzada Farhan’s brilliant 73-run innings. Openers Farhan and Saeem Ayub provided a solid start with a 54-run partnership, while captain Salman Ali Agha was dismissed for just one run. Babar Azam contributed 46 runs off 32 balls, showcasing his aggressive strokeplay, and Shadab Khan added a quick 30 off 12 balls.

Chasing 191, the USA started well with an opening stand of 42 runs but lost momentum after Andres Ghos fell for 13 and Monak Patel was dismissed for just 3 runs. Notable contributions came from Shian Jahangir (49) and Shubham Ranjane (51), while Milind Kumar added 29. Despite their efforts, the USA were restricted to 158/8 in 20 overs.
