Pakistan Sets 191-Run Target Against USA – T20 World Cup

Colombo, Sri Lanka – Web Desk: In the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, Pakistan has set a challenging target of 191 runs for the United States after posting 190/9 in their 20 overs at Colombo. The USA, who won the toss, elected to field first, giving Pakistan the opportunity to bat.

Pakistan’s innings was led by Sahibzada Farhan, who scored a brilliant 73 runs, anchoring the team through a competitive total. The opening partnership between Sahibzada Farhan and Saim Ayub yielded 54 runs, setting a solid platform. However, Saeem Ayub fell for 19, followed quickly by captain Salman Ali Agha, who was dismissed for just one run.

Farhan and Babar Azam then produced an entertaining partnership, with Babar contributing 46 runs off 32 balls. Farhan eventually departed for 73, while Shadab Khan added a quickfire 30 runs off 12 balls, helping Pakistan reach a formidable total of 190/9.

From the USA side, Shadley Van Schalkwyk stood out, claiming four wickets and keeping the match competitive.

Pakistan made one change for this match, bringing in Usman Tariq in place of Salman Mirza. The playing XI included Sahibzada Farhan, Saeem Ayub, Babar Azam, Salman Ali Agha, Usman Khan, Shadab Khan, Mohammad Nawaz, Faheem Ashraf, Shaheen Afridi, Usman Tariq, and Abrar Ahmed.

This fixture follows Pakistan’s thrilling opening victory against the Netherlands, which they won by three wickets, while the USA had lost their first match against India. The game promises to be another high-octane encounter as the USA chases 191 to stay alive in the tournament.
