Karachi/Lahore, Pakistan — Web Desk: The festival of Basant returned to Lahore in full glory, with celebrities, diplomats, and locals celebrating the vibrant spring kite festival. The event at Delhi Gate, Lahore attracted top stars from the showbiz industry, including Yasir Hussain, Mikaal Zulfiqar, Adeel, Mehab Mirza, Juggan Kazim, Ali Zarghoon, Faryal Khan, Gohar, and Amna, along with foreign diplomats.
Actors expressed their gratitude to Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz for restoring the festival. Mikaal Zulfiqar emphasized, “Lahore and Basant are inseparable, it’s heartening to see Basant back.” Adeel credited CM Nawaz for the revival, noting the event generated PKR 350 million in revenue.
The event also saw the presence of US Acting Ambassador Netaly Baker, wearing a yellow shirt, along with Punjab Information Minister Azma Bukhari, Senior Minister Maryam Aurangzeb, and Provincial Minister Sohaib Bhart. Baker praised the Punjab government for allowing Basant and enjoyed traditional Lahori cuisine. Other notable attendees included US Deputy Assistant Secretary John Mark, Consul General Statesen Sanders, Sadaf Saad, Political Officer John Skerry, and Saad Sarfaraz.
