Washington, United States — Web Desk: Preparations are underway for the first official meeting of the Gaza Peace Board, scheduled to be held on February 19 in the United States, with invitations already sent to board members. According to American media reports, US President Donald Trump, who serves as the chairman of the Gaza Peace Board, will host global leaders and members of the Gaza Executive Committee at the US Institute of Peace in Washington.
So far, 25 countries have joined the Gaza Peace Board, while several key European nations, including the United Kingdom, France, and Norway, have refused to participate, calling the initiative a challenge to the role of the United Nations.
Initially critical of the plan, the Israeli Prime Minister later expressed willingness to join the board, signaling a shift in stance. Although the official agenda has not yet been released, US media reports suggest the initiative is part of Trump’s proposed Gaza Deal Phase Two, focusing on Gaza reconstruction and Hamas disarmament.
