Saudi-Pakistan Defence Pact Strengthens Strategic Ties

Date:

Islamabad, Pakistan — Web Desk: Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, said the Saudi-Pakistan defence pact is rooted in brotherly ties and shared strategic interests, calling it historic and strategically significant. He said defence cooperation between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia spans decades and continues to expand, with economic collaboration also accelerating after the agreement. Asim Iftikhar warned that terrorism remains a threat to Pakistan’s peace and economic stability, citing the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA). He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to counterterrorism and vowed not to allow cross-border safe havens to undermine regional security.
