Lahore, Pakistan – Web Desk: Federal Minister for Information Attaullah Tarar has accused PTI of being behind the recent resurgence of terrorism in Pakistan. Speaking at a press conference with religious scholars in Lahore, Tarar condemned the attack on worshippers in Islamabad, calling the perpetrators’ actions an insult to humanity.
He emphasized that terrorists targeted innocent people during prayers at mosques and Imambargahs, stating that such attackers have no religion. Tarar assured the public that security forces are fully vigilant, and all mosques, religious centers, and Imambargahs are being protected. He stressed that terrorists no longer have the capability to strike hard targets and are now targeting soft, remote locations.
Tarar criticized the previous approach of settling militants in peaceful areas, linking it to the current wave of attacks, calling it the legacy of the “Taliban Khan mindset.” He also confirmed that investigations into the Islamabad attack are progressing and facilitators will be brought to justice.
The minister highlighted the role of the Peace Message Committee, which includes representatives from all religious sects, to promote harmony and counter extremist ideologies. He further stated that Afghan territory is being used against Pakistan, and security measures are being intensified under Prime Minister’s directives.
