Islamabad suicide bombing: More evidence collected from scene

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – Law enforcement agencies have collected key evidence related to the suicide bombing that took place inside an Imambargah in the federal capital.

According to the sources, assistance was taken from the National Forensic Agency and NADRA to collect and analyse evidence from the site of the attack.

Investigators said the suicide bomber first opened fire before detonating himself. The attacker fired two shots along the way and six rounds after entering the hall. All bullet casings have been recovered from the crime scene.

Police sources further said that after firing, the attacker moved into the mosque hall and carried out the suicide blast. Around four kilograms of explosive material were used in the attack, containing a large number of ball bearings.

Suicide bombing inside a mosque and Imambargah during Friday prayers in Islamabad on Friday killed at least 32 people and injured more than 170 others.
