Pakistan’s 2026 polio campaign reaches over 42 million children

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – The first national polio immunization campaign of 2026 has entered its fifth day, with over 42.2 million children vaccinated across Pakistan in the past four days.

According to the National Emergency Operations Center (NEOC), the campaign is being conducted simultaneously in Pakistan and Afghanistan.

Provincial figures show that more than 22.4 million children have been vaccinated in Punjab, over 9.58 million in Sindh, 6.76 million in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, nearly 2.06 million in Balochistan, and more than 454,000 in Islamabad.

Over 38.9 million children vaccinated as polio campaign continues nationwide

In addition, over 261,000 children in Gilgit-Baltistan and more than 673,000 in Azad Jammu & Kashmir have received polio drops.

Over 400,000 polio workers are participating nationwide, going door-to-door to ensure every child receives the vaccine.
