Five-year-old Abu Bakar injured by deadly wire; Mianwali police launch investigation

Rawalpindi, Pakistan | Web Desk: A five-year-old boy, Abu Bakar Amir, was critically injured by a dangerous “killer wire” while traveling on a motorcycle in Chaklala Scheme-III, Rawalpindi. His mother and elder brother were also injured while trying to save him.

The incident occurred as the family passed under a bridge when the wire struck the child’s neck. Abu Bakar was immediately taken to a private hospital on High Court Road for first aid and later referred to District Headquarters Hospital, Rawalpindi. Doctors confirmed a deep neck wound, but fortunately, the main artery was unharmed. The child is now recovering at home.

Expressing concern, Chief Minister Punjab Mian Maryam Nawaz took notice and directed the Commissioner and RPO Rawalpindi to submit a report. Police, led by SSP Operations Malik Tariq Mehmood, visited the site, and investigations are underway. Authorities confirmed a case will be filed, and responsible parties for the deadly wire will face action.
