Imran Khan and other accused not given challan copies; court adjourns 11 cases to Feb 21
Rawalpindi, Pakistan – Web Desk: The hearings of 11 high-profile cases related to the May 9 incidents have once again been postponed. During the session, the court was informed that challan copies could not be distributed to the accused, including Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman and former Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Former Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Ali Amin Gandapur, Shibli Faraz, and Omar Ayub were also not provided with the case copies. Imran Khan and Shah Mehmood Qureshi’s appearances were recorded via jail remand. The court noted that although the challans for all 11 cases were available, the recipients were absent.
The 11 cases include the GHQ Gate No. 4 attack, Army Museum attack, arson at sensitive presidential buildings, Metro Bus Station fire, and attacks on intelligence agency offices. Defense lawyers and government prosecutors appeared in court, with defense counsel requesting permission to meet their clients.
The court also noted that the video link system has not been functional even after three months, preventing remote appearances from the courtroom and jail. Subsequently, the court adjourned all 11 cases until February 21, 2026.
