Alina Amir Calls for Strict Action Against AI Deepfake Creators in Punjab
Lahore, Pakistan – Web Desk: Popular TikTok star Alina Amir has publicly responded to a viral video allegedly featuring her, calling it a deepfake and demanding strict action from the Punjab government. The controversy has sparked widespread attention across social media, highlighting the growing threat of AI-generated fake videos targeting women.
Alina Amir confirmed that a manipulated video of her was circulating online and strongly condemned the act. She described the video as a deepfake and urged the Chief Minister of Punjab to take immediate action against the perpetrators. In a recorded statement, she said, “I did not want to comment initially and remained silent for a week, observing the situation. However, after seeing posts claiming my private video had been leaked, I decided to respond and expose these individuals in their own language.”
The TikTok influencer stressed the dangers of misinformation, saying that many individuals deliberately spread false content to defame women. “People need to verify the authenticity of any video before sharing it,” she added, emphasizing the psychological and social harm caused by fake videos.
Alina Amir further praised the Punjab Cyber Crime Department (CCD) for its ongoing work and urged officials, including Sohail Zafar Chhatta, to take serious action. She stated that creating fake videos of girls not only defames them but also constitutes harassment. “These individuals are not just targeting celebrities, influencers, or public figures—they are making fake videos of private girls as well and sending them to their families, destroying lives,” she said.
She reassured her followers that her family fully trusts her and that she would never betray that trust. Alina Amir also announced a cash reward for anyone providing credible information leading to the identification of the creators behind her deepfake video. She concluded by encouraging women everywhere to raise their voices against harassment and exploitation.
This incident highlights the growing concern over AI-generated deepfake videos in Pakistan and the urgent need for stricter cybersecurity measures and legal enforcement. Social media users are increasingly vulnerable to manipulation and defamation, making awareness, vigilance, and government intervention crucial in protecting individuals’ privacy and reputation.
