FBR revises customs rates for USBs, flash drives, memory cards

(Web Desk) – The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has issued a new custom valuation for USBs, flash drives and memory cards used for data transfer, imposing customs duties on their imports.

According to official documents, a customs duty of $0.78 will be charged on 16GB USBs imported from China, while 16GB USBs imported from other countries will attract a duty of $1.

For 32GB USBs, imports from China will be subject to a customs duty of $0.87, whereas imports from other countries will be charged $1.13. Similarly, 64GB USBs imported from China will face a duty of $1.17, while those imported from non-Chinese sources will be charged $1.52.

The duty on 128GB USBs imported from China has been set at $2.60, while imports from other countries will attract a duty of $3.38.

According to the valuation, 512GB USBs imported from China will be subject to a customs duty of $3.99, compared to $5.18 for those imported from other countries. The duty on 1TB USBs has been fixed at $7.64 for Chinese imports and $9.93 for imports from other countries.

Additionally, 2TB USBs imported from China will attract a customs duty of $14.76, while imports from non-Chinese countries will face a duty of $19.18.

The FBR has issued a formal notification to implement the new customs duty structure for USBs, flash drives and memory cards.
