US-EU Greenland Deal Framework Set; Trump Rules Out Use of Force, Tariffs Lifted

US President Donald Trump announced a preliminary framework for a Greenland deal after meeting NATO chief Mark Rutte. Speaking from the World Economic Forum in Davos, Trump confirmed that the US will not use force to acquire Greenland. Following this announcement, potential US tariffs on European countries have been lifted. While Denmark welcomed the move, it emphasized that serious negotiations are still needed. Meanwhile, the European Parliament has temporarily paused work on a US-EU trade agreement, citing tensions over Greenland statements. UN Secretary-General António Guterres warned that unilateral actions could weaken international norms.
