PM-Approved PAVE Scheme Begins; Thousands to Receive EV Subsidies by 2030

The Government of Pakistan has officially launched the Prime Minister-approved PAVE (Pakistan Accelerated Vehicle Electrification) Scheme, providing subsidies for electric vehicles (EVs) nationwide. The scheme is implemented through a joint system involving the Engineering Development Board (EDB), State Bank of Pakistan, NADRA, IT Board, and Ministry of Industries & Production.

Under the PAVE initiative, applicants are already receiving subsidy payments, with a target to disburse over PKR 100 billion by 2030. Currently, 41,000 EVs have received subsidies, with the second phase set to cover 78,170 vehicles worth PKR 8.95 billion. Each eligible applicant will receive PKR 80,000 directly into their bank account via the State Bank. Only EVs registered with federal or provincial authorities will qualify for the subsidy.
