Karachi: Investigations into the tragic Gul Plaza incident have accelerated as the Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) submitted complete records to the Commissioner Karachi, just four days after the collapse. The SBCA provided seven files, including three pertaining to pending court cases from 1992, 2015, and 2021.

The submitted documents include unauthorized construction records, revised proposed building plans, regularization plans, and official approval reports. The files were handed over to the Additional Commissioner’s office and cover Plot No. 32, PR-01, Preedy Quarters, South District.

Case files detail extensive documentation: CP 4138/2015 (86 pages), CP 971/2021 (50 pages), CP 1081/92 (16 pages), along with correspondence on illegal construction (6 pages), revised building plans (57 pages), report file (135 pages), and regularization file (41 pages).

Authorities say the records will help determine accountability for the Gul Plaza tragedy, with further legal action expected after investigation.
