(Web Desk) – Details around Apple’s next major iPhone lineup are beginning to take shape. A new analyst report has outlined early specifications for the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and the long-rumored iPhone Fold, all expected to launch in September 2026.
Apple analyst Jeff Pu has shared a brief specification sheet for three high-end iPhone models slated for next year. The details, highlighted in a report by 9to5Mac, largely align with earlier rumors surrounding Apple’s premium smartphone roadmap.
While Pu’s predictions are sometimes considered aggressive in terms of timing, the latest report does not introduce anything dramatically new or unexpected.
According to Pu, Apple is expected to gain market share even as the global smartphone market contracts by around 4%. The analyst projects iPhone shipments to grow by roughly 2% to 250 million units, potentially pushing Apple’s market share to 21%.
The gains are expected to come from a stronger focus on premium devices rather than a broad lineup.
iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max
The report suggests that the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max will closely resemble the iPhone 17 Pro models. The biggest upgrade is expected to be under the hood.
Both models are listed with Apple’s A20 Pro processor, built on the N2 process with WMCM packaging, paired with 12GB of LPDDR5 memory.
Display and camera specifications
The iPhone 18 Pro is expected to feature a 6.3-inch display, while the Pro Max could grow to 6.9 inches. Both models are said to retain Face ID, alongside a smaller Dynamic Island.
Camera upgrades include an 18MP front camera and a rear setup featuring a 48MP main sensor, a 48MP periscope lens, and an additional 48MP camera, continuing Apple’s focus on computational photography.
iPhone Fold
The iPhone Fold, according to Pu’s note, is expected to launch alongside the Pro models in September 2026. The device is described as a book-style foldable with a 7.8-inch internal display and a 5.3-inch external screen.
Unlike the Pro models, the Fold is expected to rely on Touch ID instead of Face ID, a move that could help address space constraints in foldable hardware.
Build materials and connectivity
The iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max are expected to use aluminum casings, while the iPhone Fold could feature a mix of titanium and aluminum for added durability.
All three models are listed with Apple’s C2 modem, suggesting continued in-house development of cellular technology.
Apple typically finalizes its fall lineup early in the year, meaning supply chain confirmations could surface at any time. These reports may also clarify whether Apple plans to shift toward a split release cycle, with premium devices launching in the fall and more affordable models arriving in the spring.
