Heavy snow in Upper Chitral leads to slippery roads; 1 killed, 10 injured in river accident
Peshawar/Chitral: Heavy snowfall has begun in the upper regions of Chitral as well as in various parts of Lower Chitral, intensifying the cold wave across the region. Areas including Garam Chashma, Yarkhun, Chiron, Booni, Mastuj, Mor Kahu, and Torkhow are currently experiencing continuous snow, creating hazardous road conditions.
Tragically, during the snowfall at Korargh, a vehicle traveling from Peshawar slipped due to icy roads and fell into the Mastuj River, resulting in one fatality and 10 injuries. The injured have been admitted to THQ Hospital Booni for medical treatment.
Authorities have issued warnings to motorists to exercise extreme caution while traveling in snow-affected regions, as slippery roads and poor visibility increase the risk of accidents.
