Commander warns Iran is ready to counter hybrid warfare on all fronts
Tehran: Iran’s Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) has been placed on high alert following threats of military action from the United States, the IRGC’s Ground Forces Commander Brigadier General Mohammad Karami said on Thursday.
Speaking to journalists, General Karami said Iran is currently facing a comprehensive and hybrid war, encompassing economic, social, political, and cyber domains, and the Iranian Armed Forces are fully prepared to respond to any aggression.
“We are ready at the highest level to confront this war. The Iranian military is united and coordinated against any hostile acts,” he added.
Earlier, IRGC Chief Commander Major General Mohammad Pakpour warned that foreign powers, including the United States and Israel, would face a decisive response if they attempt aggression against Iran. He emphasized that the powerful and popular IRGC is fully prepared to counter both external threats and local agents inspired by groups such as ISIS.
Reports from US media indicated that President Donald Trump had advocated for a strong, decisive military strike against Iran, preferring a short but effective operation over a prolonged conflict. Meanwhile, Israeli media reported that the Israeli army has ordered immediate defensive preparations, including opening bomb shelters in northern Israel and other regions.
General Karami’s announcement highlights the growing tensions between Iran, the US, and Israel, amid rising regional instability and ongoing hybrid threats. Analysts say the IRGC’s high alert status signals Iran’s determination to protect its national security and strategic interests across multiple domains, including cyber warfare, economic pressures, and local unrest.
The IRGC’s readiness underscores Tehran’s policy of deterrence and demonstrates its intent to counter any foreign intervention decisively. With military forces on alert and defensive measures in Israel, the situation remains tense, and regional analysts are closely monitoring potential flashpoints in the Middle East.
This latest development comes amid escalating US-Iran tensions following several incidents in the Persian Gulf and statements from Washington supporting strong action against Iranian targets. Iran’s warning serves as a clear signal that any military engagement would be met with a coordinated and forceful response from the Revolutionary Guards.
