Naqvi takes up extradition matter with British Foreign Office today

Date:

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi will visit the British Foreign Office in London on Monday (today) to discuss important issues with his counterpart.

He will hold meetings at the FDCO and expected to discuss extradition of fugitives Adil Raja and Shahzad Akbar to Pakistan.

He will present Pakistan’s perspective on several wanted fugitives in the UK and inform British authorities about Adil Raja and Shahzad Akbar.

Earlier, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met United Kingdom (UK) High Commissioner Jane Marriott, where he handed over the extradition papers for former special assistant to the prime minister Shahzad Akbar and YouTuber Adil Raja.

The development comes three days after Naqvi announced a crackdown on those involved in spreading fake news, declaring that the government would repatriate from the UK YouTubers involved in this activity or the targeting of state institutions.

According to a statement released by the interior ministry, Naqvi held an “important” meeting with Marriott in Islamabad, where the two discussed Pak-UK relations, security cooperation and issues of mutual interest.
