Afghanistan Emerging as Global Terror Headquarters, Warns Report

Subhead: Eurasia Review highlights alarming rise of extremist groups under Taliban rule

Karachi(Web Desk) A new international report has raised grave concerns that Afghanistan is fast becoming the epicenter of global terrorism. The study, published by Eurasia Review, warns that since the Taliban’s return to power, the country has transformed into a safe haven for extremist organizations including ISIS-K, Al-Qaeda, and Central Asian militant groups.

The report cites mounting evidence of cross-border threats, pointing to the drone attack on Chinese engineers in Tajikistan and revelations of Afghan-linked involvement in killings in Washington, D.C. Analysts estimate that more than 13,000 militants are currently active in Afghanistan, with around 6,000 TTP fighters enjoying full support from the Taliban regime.

Global agencies, including the United Nations, have repeatedly cautioned that the resurgence of terrorist networks in Afghanistan poses a serious danger not only to Pakistan and Central Asia but also to the United States, Europe, and Gulf nations.

The report concludes that the Taliban government lacks both the capacity and the will to curb extremist activities, turning Afghanistan into a recruitment hub and launchpad for international terror operations.
