Ogra rejects reports of gas tariff hike for FY2025-26

Date:

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) has denied reports of increasing gas tariff.

An Ogra spokesperson emphasised that the recent reports misrepresented the situation, and there was no change in the gas pricing structure.

He added that the revenue requirements for the fiscal year 2025-26 were already being met through the current revenue from the existing network of the Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) and Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGCL).

Earlier, reports claimed that the authority had approved an increase of 7.14 per cent in average gas prices for the current fiscal year.

It was also claimed that the gas price for Sui Northern had been increased to Rs1,852.80 per MMBTU, while the gas price for Sui Southern had been approved to be increased to Rs 1,777.2 per MMBTU.
