Palestinian Resistance Rejects UN Gaza Control Proposal Under Trump Peace Plan

Date:

UNITED NATIONS – Ahead of a key United Nations Security Council session, Palestinian resistance group Hamas and allied factions have rejected a proposed resolution that would place Gaza under international control as part of former U.S. President Donald Trump’s peace initiative.

According to Al Jazeera, the resolution—scheduled for a vote today—includes provisions for deploying international forces in Gaza and establishing a transitional governance structure. However, Palestinian groups have dismissed the plan outright, warning that any attempt to hand over Gaza’s control to foreign powers or global military forces is unacceptable.

In a joint statement, Hamas and other resistance factions declared that such measures would undermine Palestinian sovereignty and strip the people of Gaza of their right to self-governance. They emphasized that external intervention would not be tolerated under any circumstances.

Al Arabiya reported that the groups view the resolution as a direct threat to Palestinian decision-making, arguing that its approval would effectively transfer authority from local leadership to international actors. The factions warned that the deployment of foreign troops would erode the legitimacy of Palestinian governance and deepen regional instability.

The Security Council vote comes amid heightened tensions in the region, with international stakeholders divided over the future of Gaza’s administration. Palestinian resistance leaders have called on global powers to respect the will of the people and reject any plans that compromise their autonomy.
