ANKARA/ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – Turkey has initiated another diplomatic attempt to break the deadlock in peace talks between Pakistan and the Afghan Taliban.
President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has announced that his foreign minister, defense minister, and intelligence chief will soon visit Pakistan to facilitate dialogue between the two sides.
According to diplomatic sources, Islamabad and Ankara are finalizing the visit dates, which are expected to be confirmed within the next two days. Turkey’s state news agency reported that the delegation will arrive in Pakistan later this week to hold consultations with relevant officials.
President Erdogan stated that the visit aims to finalize a Pakistan-Afghanistan ceasefire agreement and establish lasting peace in the region.
According to British media, Erdogan announced the visit after returning from Baku and consulting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
Earlier, Iran also offered to mediate between Pakistan and the Afghan Taliban.
