Dengue Claims 5 More Lives in Hyderabad, Toll Reaches 32

Hyderabad: The dengue outbreak in Hyderabad continues to worsen, with five more deaths reported in the past 24 hours, raising the unofficial death toll to 32. Victims include residents from Latifabad Units 11, 4, and 6, among them 41-year-old Muhammad Faheem, 55-year-old Shamim Sheikh, and 60-year-old Sakina.

According to the Health Department, 1,534 tests were conducted in a single day, with 713 new positive cases, indicating that one in every two suspected patients is testing positive.

Currently, 80 patients are being treated in government hospitals and 132 in private facilities, totaling 212 active hospitalizations across the city.

In response, the Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (HMC) has launched a large-scale anti-mosquito spray campaign to curb the spread of the virus. Authorities urge citizens to take preventive measures as the situation remains critical.
