Pakistan, Saudi Arabia Deepen Strategic and Economic

TiesRIYADH — In a high-profile diplomatic engagement, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman on Monday to reinforce Pakistan–Saudi Arabia relations across economic, strategic, and investment domains. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 9th Future Investment Initiative (FII) Conference in Riyadh, signaling a renewed momentum in bilateral cooperation.

Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman reaffirmed the Kingdom’s commitment to expanding its partnership with Pakistan, emphasizing mutual interests in energy, trade, and infrastructure development. Both leaders agreed to maintain high-level contacts and accelerate joint ventures that align with Saudi Vision 2030 and Pakistan’s economic revival strategy.

The talks were attended by senior officials from both sides, including Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, and Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb. The presence of top-tier leadership underscored the strategic importance of the dialogue.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Riyadh on the Crown Prince’s invitation and was warmly received at King Khalid International Airport by Riyadh’s Deputy Governor Prince Mohammed Bin Abdul Rahman Bin Abdulaziz, Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan Nawaf Bin Saeed Al-Malki, and Pakistan’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Ahmad Farooq.

The Pakistani delegation also included Special Assistants Tariq Fatemi and Bilal Bin Saqib, reflecting Islamabad’s intent to engage across diplomatic, financial, and development sectors.

The meeting comes at a time when both nations are exploring deeper economic integration, with Saudi Arabia playing a pivotal role in supporting Pakistan’s financial stability through investments and energy cooperation. Observers note that the encounter could pave the way for new agreements and long-term strategic alignment between the two regional allies.
