Karachi — Sindh’s Senior Minister for Information, Transport, and Mass Transit, Sharjeel Inam Memon, announced the completion of the Senator Taj Haider Bridge, a major infrastructure project under the Yellow Line Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) initiative. In a video statement, Memon described the bridge as a landmark achievement of the Pakistan Peoples Party-led Sindh government, aimed at easing traffic congestion and improving urban mobility.
The bridge, which is part of the Yellow Line BRT corridor, was completed in a short span of time and includes a dedicated track for cyclists to ensure safe and uninterrupted travel. Memon revealed that an additional bridge is under construction, which will bring the total to eight lanes, further enhancing traffic flow in the Korangi area and surrounding neighborhoods.
He emphasized that the Sindh government is rapidly advancing multiple BRT projects across Karachi, with the goal of providing state-of-the-art transport systems. “Our commitment is to deliver modern roads and transit solutions that offer relief from traffic woes,” he said.
Memon also announced the launch of electric vehicle (EV) buses under the Yellow Line project, which will contribute to environmental sustainability while improving commuter comfort. He reiterated that the PPP-led government is working diligently to improve connectivity and ensure that citizens have access to affordable, air-conditioned public transport.
The Senator Taj Haider Bridge is expected to serve as a vital link for residents of Korangi and nearby areas, reflecting the Sindh government’s broader vision for a modern, connected Karachi.
