Sindh Government Orders Probe into Budget Misuse in Jacobabad Schools

Date:

JACOBABAD— The Sindh government has launched an investigation into alleged budget misappropriation in Jacobabad district schools for the fiscal year 2025–26.

According to a notification issued by the School Education & Literacy Department on October 14, the inquiry was initiated based on complaints received from A.S. Hafeez Jatoi, a member of the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan. A letter has been sent to the Director of Primary Education in Larkana, instructing him to submit all financial records and documentation for review.

Sources report widespread complaints about non-transparent budget allocations, unfair fund distribution, and irregularities in development work. Civil society and education experts have welcomed the move, saying a fair investigation could improve financial management and raise educational standards.

The Sindh government has recently introduced reforms to promote transparency in schools, including budget monitoring, inspections, and audit-based accountability.
