Police Officer’s Heroic Attempt Backfires as Dragging Incident Video Goes Viral

Date:

Peshawar — A dramatic incident in the Gulbahar area of Peshawar turned into a nightmare for a police officer who tried to stop a fabric-smuggling Chingchi rickshaw by grabbing onto the moving vehicle. Instead of becoming a hero, the officer found himself in serious trouble.

The event unfolded on GT Road when the officer attempted to halt the rickshaw suspected of smuggling cloth. The driver, however, refused to stop, causing the officer to cling to the vehicle and get dragged along the road for several meters. The shocking footage quickly went viral on social media.

In the video, the officer can be seen making a bold attempt to stop the vehicle, but the driver continued driving, pulling the officer along the street. The dramatic scene left bystanders stunned.

Following the incident, the police department took swift action. SSP Operations suspended the officer, stating that he acted without proper backup and used a dangerous method that put his own life at risk.

Social media users reacted with mixed opinions. Some praised the officer’s bravery, while others criticized his reckless approach. One user commented, “He wanted to be a hero, but the method was wrong,” while another wrote, “At least he tried—many wouldn’t even do that.”

Police officials emphasized that such operations must follow proper protocols and that acting without support is not only dangerous but also against departmental regulations. An internal inquiry against the suspended officer is now underway.
