PIMEC 2025: A Strategic Gateway to Boost Pakistan’s Blue Economy and Maritime Innovation

Karachi: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, while chairing the third Steering Committee meeting for the Pakistan International Maritime Expo & Conference (PIMEC) 2025, hailed the event as a pivotal platform to advance Pakistan’s Blue Economy. He emphasized its role in promoting maritime innovation, attracting investment, and fostering international collaboration.

Scheduled for November 3–6, 2025, at the Karachi Expo Centre, PIMEC is being organized in partnership with the Pakistan Navy. The meeting at CM House was attended by Vice Admiral Muhammad Faisal Abbasi, provincial ministers, Mayor Karachi Murtaza Wahab, Chief Secretary Asif Hyder Shah, IG Police, and senior officials from the Sindh Government and Pakistan Navy.

In his remarks, the Chief Minister reaffirmed full provincial support for PIMEC 2025, underscoring its strategic importance in showcasing Pakistan’s maritime potential and positioning the country as a regional maritime hub. He praised the Pakistan Navy’s leadership and stressed that maritime growth could unlock new opportunities for employment, trade, and economic resilience.

Vice Admiral Abbasi led the second session, reviewing progress on logistics, administration, and security. He announced that PIMEC 2025 will feature a Maritime Exhibition, International Conference, Cultural Show, and Business Engagements—offering a vibrant platform for entrepreneurs, researchers, policymakers, and investors.

Participants reiterated their commitment to ensuring the event’s success and enhancing Pakistan’s global maritime profile. The Chief Minister directed civic agencies to complete all arrangements ahead of time and improve access routes to the Expo Centre. He also instructed Traffic Police to implement a robust traffic management plan, including dedicated routes for delegates and alternate paths for residents to minimize disruption.

Mr. Shah concluded by acknowledging potential inconveniences but affirmed Karachi’s pride in hosting this prestigious event, which reflects the city’s growing significance in the national and regional maritime landscape.
