Rescuers among 10 injured as fire erupts in Gujranwala plastic factory

GUJRANWALA: Ten people including three rescue officials injured when a fire broke out after an explosion in chemicals store at a plastic factory in Gulshan Adeel Colony area of Gujranwala on Saturday.

According to rescue officials, there was smoke in the factory at first when the rescue teams arrived to control it. 

But a chemical reaction from sulfur in the factory caused an explosion and a fire, in which 10 people, including three rescue personnel, received burn injuries. 

All the injured were shifted to the hospital and more rescue personnel immediately reached the spot to help. 

However, the fire was controlled as 6 fire engines and 6 ambulances participated in the rescue operation. The cooling process is underway.
